Installing Luppis pacenotes

DOWNLOAD MY PACENOTE PACKS

Introduction

First of all I wanna make clear the difference between pacenotes and co-driver mods. Co-driver mod changes the audio and selection of pacenotes that are available. While pacenotes are just "universal" ID numbers that your co-driver will read using the language and style of your co-driver mod. However, all the co-driver mods can't read all the pacenotes because there are differences between selection of pacenotes and what each ID means. So there's no universal standard how the co-driver mod needs to be structured but using structures of Janne Laahanen's (V2 & V3) mods is fairly popular and therefore makes it possible to use the Luppis pacenote packs with full compatibility.

Why one should use Luppis pacenote pack and suitable co-driver mod? The issue with RBR is pacenotes because every stage has kinda their own and scales change even quite a lot between stages, but thank god we can make our own pacenotes. That is why I collected my pacenotes I've made for almost all stages and put them in one pack. I hope this is helpful for new players or ones who don't have time to do their own and just want to enjoy driving. Even though you should note that pacenotes are subjective so everyone has their own taste and scale. It is also worth to notice that some of the older notes of this pack (before 6/2022) might have a bit different scale and they might miss some corner length and distance calls. Feel free to modify notes how you like.

!!DISCLAIMER!!

Since 9th of January 2024 I am offering two different pacenote packs (V2 and V3). Pay attention to this when choosing your co-driver mod and which pacenote pack to download. See details below.

Compatible co-driver mods

V2 pack: I have listed some compatible co-driver mods that read my pacenotes perfectly. Check the list from here

V3 pack: Currently V3 pack supports mods listed in here

To simplify, V2 pacenotes are only fully compatible with mods listed in here or ones using similar structure. While V3 pacenotes are only fully compatible with Janne Laahanen V3 mod or ones with similar structure.

Using co-drivers with other structures or mixing V2 and V3 co-drivers/pacenotes is not recommended to avoid missing or false calls.

INSTALLATION (V2 and V3)

There are few ways to load these pacenotes for stages. Folder structure method (PACENOTES WITH FOLDER STRUCTURE) creates pacenote folders to MyPacenotes directory (RBR/Plugins/NGPCarMenu/MyPacenotes). Folder structure version also has some stages with only default notes. You can also apply single or multiple notes (PACENOTES WITHOUT FOLDER STRUCTURE) by using two different methods. Method 1. is the fastest way there and method two needs some more clicking but after that you don't have to do anything in game. If you want to use all of my pacenotes then it's recommended to use folder structure method where you extract whole pack into your RBR root folder. Installation instructions on video (ENG&FIN) available at the bottom of this page.

Using folder structure (recommended if you want to use all pacenotes):

1. Open "PACENOTES WITH FOLDER STRUCTURE" and copy Plugins folder

Copy Plugins folder

2. Navigate to your RBR folder (e.g. C:\Games\Richard Burns Rally) and paste Plugins folder there + overwrite old files if asked

Paste Plugins folder here

Now pacenotes should be automatically in use as each stage folder has "mypacenotelatest.txt" file which indicates that it should use pacenote file with the latest modification date. If some notes do not load automatically when entering the stage then do followin:

1. Open RallySimFans launcher and tab called "My Pacenotes"
2. Click stage where you want to use my pacenotes and then from the right side box (Available pacenotes) choose "latest MyPacenote".
Repeat this step with other stages if needed. (NOTE: if you already have own pacenotes with modified date newer than mine then you should click file name in "MyPacenotes" screen to use it)

Using without folder structure (recommended if you want to use single or multiple pacenotes but not all):

Method 1.
 1. Extract or copy pacenote files from zip folder and place them to where ever you want
 2. Enter a stage in RBR and double left click to open pacenote plugin
 3. Choose "File" -> "Read from BTB" and then find the location where you did put your extracted/copied pacenotes
 4. Choose correct pacenote file and click OK and that's all

Method 2.
 1. Copy pacenote files to matching stage folders in RBR/Plugins/NGPCarMenu/MyPacenotes (you need to drive the stage once to make stage folder appear)
 2. Each file goes to own folder ("Bisanne 20220917" file to "Bisanne" folder and so on)
 3. Open RallySimFans launcher and tab called "My Pacenotes"
 4. Click stage where you want to use my pacenotes and then from right side box (Available pacenotes) choose "latest MyPacenote".
If you want another stage to automatically use my pacenotes then repeat this 4. step

SUPPORT PROJECT

I do these pacenotes for pure passion to RBR and I want these notes to be free and accessible for everyone. Got so many kind words already and those motivate me to continue this. Few people have contacted me and asked if it's possible to support my project and that makes me feel honored. So if you feel that you want to support my project you can donate me through Paypal. Donation is totally optional and I will continue without any financial support anyways. Pacenote pack will stay free and everything will be same for everyone, forever, no matter what. But big thanks if you decide to support me financialy! Click the Paypal logo down below or ask me for other possible ways if needed.

  2. These are great, and I enjoyed testing v3. Now I want to go back to v2 (I want another co-driver voice), how would you do that? Just copy the v2 files over as usual?
